今回は、秋田県八幡平温泉郷にある蒸ノ湯温泉 ふけの湯に行ってきました。
アスピーテ型の美しい山・八幡平の秋田側、標高1,100mに湧く山のいで湯が蒸ノ湯温泉です。
八幡平の温泉郷の中でも、最も古い歴史を誇る名湯。
地熱を利用した蒸かしの湯から、その名が付きました。
別名「オンドル」と呼び、1960年代後半に蒸ノ湯を訪れた漫画家つげ義春も「オンドル小屋」という作品名で当時客の様子を面白おかしく描いています。

一軒宿である蒸ノ湯は、外観はロッジ風の建物。
周辺は、大地のあちこちから立ち上る蒸気と、短い春夏秋冬を惜しむ大自然が一体となった壮大な景色が広がります。
その光景は、今までにみたことがない風景画のような景色で、どこか違う世界へ入り込んだような感覚でした。
お風呂の種類は、館内に男女別浴場各1、露天風呂各1(酸性泉)、館外に野天風呂各1、男女共用枡風呂、樽風呂（硫黄泉）。
いずれも天候によって、お湯の色が白や黒に変わることもあり、その時々での雰囲気を楽しむことができます。

蒸ノ湯のお料理は、山菜をはじめとする地元産にこだわった食材で作られる「蒸ノ湯式薬膳」。
見たことのない料理も多くあり、食事の前に女将さんが食事の中身を丁寧に説明してくれます。
「体にいいもの」と「美味しい」にこだわった蒸ノ湯自慢のお料理をぜひ堪能してみてください♪

This time, I visited Fukenoyu, a steaming hot spring in Hachimantai Onsenkyo, Akita Prefecture.
Fukenoyu Hot Spring is a hot spring on the Akita side of Hachimantai, a beautiful mountain in the shape of an aspite, at an altitude of 1,100 meters.
Among the hot spring villages in Hachimantai, this famous hot spring boasts the oldest history.
The name comes from the geothermally heated steaming hot spring water.
Also known as “ondol,” the manga artist Yoshiharu Tsuge, who visited Fukenoyu in the late 1960s, amusingly depicted guests at the time in his work titled “Ondol Hut.

Fukenoyu, a one-house inn, is a lodge-like building from the outside.
The surrounding area offers a magnificent view that combines the steam rising from all over the land and the nature that spares us the short spring, summer, fall, and winter.
The scenery was like a landscape painting I had never seen before, and I felt as if I had entered a different world.
There are one men’s and one women’s bath and one open-air bath (acidic spring) inside the building, one open-air bath outside the building, a Masu bath for men and women, and a barrel bath (sulfur spring).
The color of the water in each of these baths can change to white or black depending on the weather, allowing visitors to enjoy the atmosphere at any given time.

The cuisine at Fukenoyu is “Fukenoyu-style medicinal herbs” prepared with locally grown ingredients, including wild vegetables.
There are many dishes you have never seen before, and the proprietress will carefully explain to you what is in the meal before you eat.
Please enjoy the cuisine that is the pride of Fukenoyu, which focuses on “good for the body” and “delicious.
