今回は、北茨城市平潟町にある「あんこうの宿 まるみつ旅館」に行ってきました。
平潟港温泉は、今回で3ヶ所目。
漁港が盛んで、歴史を感じる海の街並みがとてもいい雰囲気です。

まるみつ旅館は、あんこう鍋専門旅館。
こちらのオーナーさんは、
「あんこうのことならどこにも負けない。」
というくらいあんこうに特化し、あんこう愛に溢れる温泉旅館です。
旅館のどこを見ても、あんこうの飾り物やあんこうのぬいぐるみ、
あんこうの絵など、旅館内もあんこうや魚の情報が満載。
本気のあんこう愛を感じます。

お食事は夕食と朝食をいただきました。
オーナーさんが自ら仕入れた地元の新鮮なお魚。
水・出汁を一切使わないあんこう鍋。
海のフォアグラと呼ばれるあんこうは、臭みがなく、濃厚な味わいでした。
最高に美味しかったです。
あんこうは冬にしか食べられないイメージがありますが、こちらは年中いつでも食べられます。

また、こちらはあんこうだけでなく、お風呂も充実しています。
面白い・新しいことが大好きなオーナーさん。
大浴場の他に、日本一深い「宇宙風呂」や
あんこうのコラーゲンを使った「コラーゲン風呂」など、
4つの貸切風呂があります。
「宇宙風呂」を体験し、螺旋階段のようにお風呂が徐々に深くなっており、一番深いところに行くと足がつかないほど深いです！
初体験のお風呂ばかりで、ご家族だけでなく、友達同士やカップルなどにも楽しく過ごせそうです。

まるみつ旅館は、旅館以外にも
あんこうのことを知る「あんこう研究所」や
あんこうラーメンが人気な「麺屋まるみつ」、
賞味期限４時間のプリンなどが変わり種スイーツが揃う「てんごころ」
などあります。

This time we visited Anko no Yado Marumitsu Ryokan in Hirakata-cho, Kitaibaraki City.
This is the third Hirakata-machi hot spring resort we have visited.

Marumitsu Ryokan is a ryokan specializing in ankou-nabe (redfish stew).
The owner of Marumitsu Ryokan says
“When it comes to anglerfish, we are second to none.

You can feel the serious love for anglerfish.

We had dinner and breakfast.
The owner personally purchases fresh local fish.
Anko-nabe, which does not use any water or soup stock.
The anglerfish, called the foie gras of the sea, had no odor and a rich flavor.
It was the most delicious.
Ankou has an image of being eaten only in winter, but here you can have it any time of the year.

In addition to ankou, this restaurant also offers a full range of baths.
The owner loves interesting and new things.
In addition to the large baths, there is also the deepest “space bath” in Japan and
and a “collagen bath” using collagen from anglerfish.
There are four private baths, including the deepest “space bath” in Japan and a “collagen bath” using collagen from anko fish.
I experienced the “Space Bath” and found that the bath gradually gets deeper like a spiral staircase, and when you go to the deepest part, it is so deep that you can’t touch your feet!
All of these baths are first-time experiences and will be enjoyable not only for families, but also for friends and couples.

Marumitsu Ryokan is more than just a ryokan.
Ankou Kenkyujo (Ankou Research Institute), where you can learn about ankou, and
Marumitsu Noodle Shop, which is popular for its ankou ramen, and
Tengokoro, a sweets store offering puddings with a 4-hour shelf life
and a sweet shop called “Tengokoro,” which serves pudding with a shelf life of four hours.
